Kapitel 18
1
Depois disso, Davi derrotou os filisteus e os subjugou, e tomou Gate e seus povoados das mãos dos filisteus.
2
Ele derrotou Moabe; e os moabitas se tornaram servos de Davi e trouxeram tributo.
3
Davi derrotou Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, na direção de Hamate, quando este foi estabelecer o seu domínio junto ao rio Eufrates.
4
Davi tomou dele mil carros, sete mil cavaleiros e vinte mil soldados de infantaria; e Davi cortou os tendões de todos os cavalos dos carros, mas reservou deles o suficiente para cem carros.
5
Quando os sírios de Damasco vieram ajudar Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, Davi matou vinte e dois mil homens dos sírios.

Então Davi colocou guarnições na Síria de Damasco; e os sírios se tornaram servos de Davi e trouxeram tributo. O SENHOR deu vitória a Davi por onde quer que ele fosse.
7
Davi tomou os escudos de ouro que estavam com os servos de Hadadezer, e os trouxe para Jerusalém.
8
De Tibate e de Cum, cidades de Hadadezer, Davi tomou muitíssimo bronze, com o qual Salomão fez o mar de bronze, as colunas e os utensílios de bronze.

Quando Toú, rei de Hamate, ouviu que Davi tinha derrotado todo o exército de Hadadezer, rei de Zobá,

ele enviou seu filho Hadorão ao rei Davi para saudá-lo e abençoá-lo, porque ele havia lutado contra Hadadezer e o derrotado (pois Hadadezer fazia guerra contra Toú); e ele trazia consigo todo tipo de utensílios de ouro, prata e bronze.
11
O rei Davi também os dedicou ao SENHOR, juntamente com a prata e o ouro que ele havia trazido de todas as nações: de Edom, de Moabe, dos filhos de Amom, dos filisteus e de Amaleque.
12
Além disso, Abisai, filho de Zeruia, matou dezoito mil edomitas no Vale do Sal.
13
Ele colocou guarnições em Edom; e todos os edomitas se tornaram servos de Davi. O SENHOR deu vitória a Davi por onde quer que ele fosse.
14
Davi reinou sobre todo o Israel; e ele administrava a justiça e o direito para todo o seu povo.
15
Joabe, filho de Zeruia, era o comandante do exército; Josafá, filho de Ailude, era o cronista;
16
Zadoque, filho de Aitube, e Abimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes; Savsa era o escrivão;
17
e Benaia, filho de Joiada, comandava os quereteus e os peleteus; e os filhos de Davi eram os principais oficiais a serviço do rei.

Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
2
And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought gifts.
3
¶ And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
4
And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots.
5
And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6
Then David put garrisons in Syria-damascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
7
And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8
Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
9
¶ Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;
10
He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
11
¶ Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
12
Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.
13
¶ And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David’s servants. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
14
¶ So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.
15
And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.
16
And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
17
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
