Capitolo 8
1
Para o Mestre de Música; em um instrumento de Gate. Um Salmo de Davi. SENHOR, nosso Senhor, como é majestoso o seu nome em toda a terra!
O Senhor colocou a sua glória acima dos céus!
2
Dos lábios das crianças e dos recém-nascidos o Senhor estabeleceu força,
por causa dos seus adversários, para silenciar o inimigo e o vingador.
3
Quando contemplo os seus céus, obra dos seus dedos,
a lua e as estrelas, que o Senhor estabeleceu,
4
o que é o homem, para que o Senhor pense nele?
E o que é o filho do homem, para que o Senhor cuide dele?
5
Pois o Senhor o fez um pouco menor que os anjos,
e o coroou de glória e honra.
6
O Senhor o faz governar sobre as obras das suas mãos.
O Senhor colocou todas as coisas debaixo dos seus pés:
7
Todas as ovelhas e os bois,
sim, e os animais do campo,
8
as aves do céu, os peixes do mar,
e tudo o que passa pelos caminhos dos mares.
9
SENHOR, nosso Senhor,
como é majestoso o seu nome em toda a terra!

1
To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7
All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
