Chapitre 97

1 O SENHOR reina! Alegre-se a terra! Alegre-se a multidão das ilhas!

2 Nuvens e trevas estão ao seu redor. Justiça e direito são o fundamento do seu trono.

3 Um fogo vai adiante dele, e consome os seus adversários de todos os lados.

4 Seus relâmpagos iluminam o mundo. A terra vê, e treme.

5 Os montes se derretem como cera na presença do SENHOR, na presença do Senhor de toda a terra.

6 Os céus anunciam a sua justiça. Todos os povos viram a sua glória.

7 Sejam envergonhados todos os que servem a imagens esculpidas, que se gloriam em seus ídolos. Adorem-no, todos vocês, deuses!

8 Sião ouviu e se alegrou. As filhas de Judá exultaram por causa dos teus juízos, SENHOR.

9 Pois tu, SENHOR, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra. Tu és exaltado muito acima de todos os deuses.

10 Vocês que amam o SENHOR, odeiem o mal! Ele preserva as almas dos seus santos. Ele os livra da mão dos ímpios.

11 A luz é semeada para os justos, e a alegria para os retos de coração.

12 Alegrem-se no SENHOR, vocês, justos! Deem graças ao seu santo Nome.

Chapitre 97

1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.

9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
