Chapitre 3
1
Atunci DOMNUL mi-a spus: Du-te din nou, iubeşte o femeie iubită de un prieten şi adulteră, iubeşte-o conform cu iubirea DOMNULUI către copiii lui Israel, care privesc la alţi dumnezei şi iubesc ulcioarele de vin.

Astfel, mi-am cumpărat-o cu cincisprezece arginţi şi pentru un homer de orz şi o jumătate de homer de orz;
3
Şi i-am spus: Să rămâi aici pentru mine multe zile; să nu curveşti şi să nu fii pentru alt bărbat; astfel voi fi şi eu pentru tine.
4
Căci copiii lui Israel vor rămâne multe zile fără un împărat şi fără un prinţ şi fără un sacrificiu şi fără chip cioplit şi fără un efod şi fără terafim;
5
După aceasta copiii lui Israel se vor întoarce şi vor căuta pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul lor şi pe David împăratul lor; şi se vor teme de DOMNUL şi de bunătatea lui în zilele de pe urmă.

Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.
2
So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.
4
For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
5
Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
